In my last post I mentioned the donation we made to Dr. Janicek's office. I received a call this week from Vickie, Dr. Janicek's chemo nurse, advising they had made a decision on how best to use the donation. They purchased three (3) Apple iPADs and a few portable DVD players along with a library of DVD's. The iPADs are Wi-Fi capable and the password that they assigned to them is based on Angie's name (can't give to entire password out here for obvious reasons). They have already purchased and downloaded an extensive library of e-books to the iPAD's so the patients have much reading to choose from. Not to mention they can surf the web and keep up on their email via the Wi-Fi. Dr. Janicek hopes to develop some type of journaling platform that his patients can use the iPAD for as well. They extended an invitation to me to come in today when he was introducing these new devices to his patients currently in treatment. I was accompanied by Kyle and Patty made the drive up from Tucson to be there. We were all touched by Dr. Janicek's comments and kind words and the patients (a packed house) were very appreciative. I am very pleased with their decision and know that Angie too would approve. Thanks again to all of you who made generous contributions that made it possible for this to be a lasting legacy in Angie's name.
